Follow this self-guided tour of Old Town Chinatown, which highlights fun, games and history for kids of all ages.
- 12:00 pm - Your day begins with an introduction to the history of Old Town, including Chinatown and Japantown. Portland's first eco-tour tells the stories Portland's oldest neighborhood. $15 per person, children 12 and under free with adult purchase. Call 503.733.4222 for complete details.
- 1:30 pm - Visit the Portland Classical Chinese Garden
(NW 3rd & Everett), where your ticket is good all day. $8.50
adults, $7.50 seniors, $6.50 students.
- 3:00 pm - Take a trip back into Japantown at the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center (121 NW 2nd Ave). $3 donation. Visit the gift shop with its fine selection of books for adults and kids.
- 4:30 pm - Portland Saturday Market, located under the BurnsideBridge. Look for the kids’ activities in the area near the stage.
- 6:00 pm - You and your kids will have a blast playing arcade games from the ‘70s,‘80s & ‘90s at Ground Kontrol (511 NW Couch).
- 7:00 pm - Enjoy a lively meal at Old Town Pizza (226 NW Davis). You may even want to tell your child about Nina, the resident ghost!
